“Looking for Christmas”
We originally planned to use a holiday instrumental music bed underneath our film footage and used a stock music guide track throughout our editing. But I started to think that an original song with the right vocals might add a bit more magic to the film. I wrote some lyrics for a couple of songs and chose the “Looking for Christmas” words for our possible track. Now, I needed a talented music composer and producer to get onboard. I’d worked with Michael Hanson on a commercial jingle before, so I felt comfortable going back to him for this track project. He was my first collaboration choice. Luckily, he was able to fit us into his active fall schedule. He didn’t let us down on the composition as we immediately fell in love with his first attempt. We selected Radar Love Records new artist Camryn Mills to help bring our project home and Camryn really gave us the feel we were looking for. She used some of her own ideas on inflection and interpretation, and we were all for it. Sometimes what’s on the page looks good, but it doesn’t ‘sing’ well. Thankfully, Michael and Camryn knew how to make the tweaks to smooth out any wrinkles. We hope “Looking for Christmas” helps you find the holiday season, and if you can’t find it, we hope it comes and finds you.

When I first imagined “Looking for Christmas” in the finished version, I softly heard an emotional and plaintiff songbird with an unfulfilled longing that went straight to your heart. After listening to “Someday” by RADAR LOVE RECORDS™ recording artist Camryn Mills, I knew I had found the vocalist for our task. Michael concurred with my selection. Although just 19, Cameron has a voice large enough to deliver our story with the feeling we were looking for. Camryn’s passion for singing has been the guiding force of her life, driving her dreams and inspiring her journey as an artist. We found Camryn, but she helped us find our song.
